Facebook is playing with a new idea in Slovakia, Serbia, Sri Lanka, Bolivia, Guatemala, and Cambodia. The idea is to move all organic FanPage posts to “Explore Feed” section and away from the main “News Feed”. We all know how internet users hate to click through menus, thus such a change would drastically cut the organic reach and interactions with a FanPage. Thanks to Filip Struhárik we are able to take a look on what’s happening in Slovakia:

Imagine this nightmare coming to your country 😱 At the moment Facebook says “There is no current plan to roll this out beyond these test countries or to charge pages on Facebook to pay for all their distribution in News Feed or Explore.“ Will this change happen in the future? Hopefully not, but I take it as a strong sign that some change will definitely happen and it will not be small – it will be a revolution, that may even destroy your current Facebook presence.

How to protect your brand?

With influencer marketing! This kind of marketing cultivates relations between your brand and a person influencing the market you target. Using such strategy, you will always get proper reach and engagement, because no social network can afford to hide real peoples’ posts.

The most common use of influencer marketing are sponsored posts on influencer’s blog or branded gift to an influential YouTuber, but that’s not always an affordable solution, especially for smaller businesses. What we did for our clients in such case was to help them cultivate online relations with the most active users within target group – for example, by commenting as our FanPage on relevant content. By doing so, you gain exposure for your brand and increase engagement. However, you must be careful, cause it is very easy to touch a nerve with inappropriate commenting and in such case “black PR” will spread like wild fire.
